Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD)
LSVT LOUD® is an evidence-based speech therapy program designed to improve vocal loudness, clarity, and overall communication for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions.
The program is grounded in decades of research and uses a high-intensity, individualized approach to help clients recalibrate how loud “normal” speech feels and sounds. Treatment focuses on increasing vocal effort while improving voice quality and carryover into everyday communication.
LSVT LOUD® may help address:
Reduced vocal loudness
Hoarseness or breathy voice
Difficulty being understood
Monotone speech
Vocal fatigue and reduced confidence when speaking
Therapy follows a structured protocol (4x/week for 4 weeks) while remaining tailored to each individual’s communication goals, daily demands, and stage of disease. Home practice and functional application are emphasized to support lasting change.
LSVT LOUD® is provided by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and may be offered in person or via telehealth when clinically appropriate.
